Obstruction below bridge
The tree that slid into the river just downstream of the 'Minerva' bank archway of the bridge at the top of the straight is now submerged. This makes it even more dangerous as you cannot see it but may damage the hull of your boat on it. The archway has been buoyed off and should not be used. Please use the other archway with extreme caution when travelling in either direction.
UPDATE: The tree now appears to have slid further into the river, so it is now more submerged and unlikely to be a harard to rowing craft. Might not be the same story for the river pleasure craft though...
Sunday 16th March 2008
The river has rised dramatically overnight and is well up the concrete - it is not safe for rowing today.
Friday 1st February 2008
The river is now firmly within its banks and rowable. There is still plenty of mud around the boathouses and along the banks. Please take care.
Saturday 12 January 2008
Severe flooding of boathouses, car park and railway bridge areas. Boathouses are non-accessible as of 9am this morning. Unlikely that any rowing can take place over this weekend.

Anybody know where the rowing tanks are?!
