Junior Training Camp - September 2009
Nineteen junior members and coaches travelled up to the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham for a training camp in September. We arrived on Friday night (just in time for supper) and stayed at the centre. The lake was unbelievably flat and calm and the sun shone for the whole weekend! In all the juniors spent 5 sessions on the water in singles, doubles and quads before travelling home on Sunday afternoon (with very blistered hands!)
It was a great weekend and everyone improved their technique whilst enjoying the lack of bends, trees, fishermen and oncoming craft! We may well repeat the exercise in the Spring.
Thanks to the coaches for giving up their weekend and also to Ann for loan of her car to tow the trailer.
My, what a long way - that must be why rowers go backwards ...
Time to go home ...
