Junior Registration for 2009-10 season – Tuesday 29th September
Please try to attend this as it really helps us to 'get it all done' in one go. We have held meetings in the past but would like to try a slightly different format this year, whereby parents/carers can drop in at the club any time between 6pm and 8pm. The aim of the registration is to ensure that the records that that the club holds about your child are up to date (mobile numbers, email addresses etc)
1) Pay the subscription for the year (if paying by cheque) – the AGM was on 18th September and the subscription is the same as last year (£84)
2) Pay any outstanding entry fees
3) Order any rowing clothing needed for the winter
Kit
Adults - please let me know now if you want to order kit for the winter - I will have the kit boxes 'out' for the junior registration session above so do drop in if you think we may have what you want in stock.
Circuit Training
Starts on Wednesday 30th September at the new time of 6.30 (meet) to be ready to start at 6.45pm. It will finish at 8.15pm. This is a rowing specific bodyweight circuit and is suitable for everyone (juniors must be in year 9 or above). It involves warming up, shuttle runs, the 'circuit' (i.e. squats, sit ups, core stability exercises etc) and stretching. It costs £2 per session or £18 for the term (12 sessions). Juniors pay half of this. Non club members are welcome to join in. It is held in the 'girls' gym at Wellsway school (not the one on the right as you go in, but around to the left beyond the new language block next to the netball courts) in Keynsham.
Junior Land Training
Starts on Thursday 1st October at 6.45pm at Oldfield School, Bath. This is suitable for juniors in year 8 and above, and involves running (so bring suitable shoes), rowing machines, core stability and flexibility work. The session costs £1 and finish at 8.30pm.
Boat Cleaning and Checking
It's that time of the year again! Everyone please help to clean (inside and out) all of the clubs boats, so that they can then be checked. Checking the boats now means we can sort out any bits that need mending/replacing and ensure that they are in good condition when we take them away to race. We also check that the they are set up correctly so if you would like to learn a bit about rigging now is the time! We aim to have this cleaning/checking done by the end of October, but this will only happen if everyone does their bit as the club owns a lot of boats! Please make sure any boats you use regularly are clean - if someone else has cleaned it for you, please clean another boat instead. Boat checking forms will be kept upstairs on the 'bar', cleaning materials will be downstairs.
