Winners take all!
National Veteran Championships
These are held in Nottingham at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrpont over 1000m. Having been abandoned by their usual fours partners, Jim and Chris bravely decided to have a go in a Veteran 'F' coxless pair - veteran races are all divided up by age, Vet 'A' being the youngest.
In an exciting 'two horse race' our 'boys' took an early lead over Tideway Scullers and were a length up at half way. They then surged ahead to finish two lengths ahead of the Thames based crew.

Wessex Invitation Regatta
While Jim and Chris went North, the Junior squad travelled south to the legendary Wessex Invitation Regatta. This is run at Bryanston School near Blandford Forum in Dorset and traditionally is where many of our junior scullers have their first taste of racing. Twenty one Avon crews took part, many including scullers who have only just started and everyone raced really well over the 270m course.
