Christmas Pudding Head
The Annual Christmas Pudding head Race took place on Sunday 21st December at Saltford. Members from Minerva-Bath RC joined us and the event saw four eights and four quads race over the 1500m course. Each of the eights has a father and son combination in the crew! Yet again girl power was in evidence as the eight with the most women in was also the fastest! Many thanks to Bristol University for the loan of their eights for the event.
The results are as follows:
| Number | Cox/Steersman | Boat | Time | Father & Son! |
| 24 | Kate H | Kit Hartley | 6:08 | Havers |
| 23 | Gemma | Penny Senior | 6:09 | Cartledge |
| 22 | Geoff | Sir John | 6:27 | Burke |
| 21 | George | Per Ardua | 6:30 | Derbyshire |
| 25 | HannahO | Chris Hopper | 7:16 | |
| 26 | Rosie | Victor | 7:19 | |
| 27 | Georgie | Dumbledore | 7:25 | |
| 28 | Sarah | Voldemort | 7:42 |
As you can see by the times, the racing was close!
After the race, the new womens coxed four was named. This boat was bought with the assistance of the National Lottery in the form of an 'Awards for All' grant. Loraine Morgan-Brinkhurst (who was our sponsor for the award) spoke about the club and then Diane and Charlotte Hodge named the boat 'John Hodge'. Sadly John recently passed away. He was the club secretary for several years and applied for the first Lottery award that the club received back in the '90s (the one that paid for mains electricity for the site, a coaching launch and several racing boats). He was a good club member and could always be relied upon to turn up when there was work to be done.

There was then a short presentation of a 'blade' to Sean Bathe-Taylor. Sean represented Great Britain at the Coupe de la Jeuness in 2007 in the coxed four.

The 100 club draw was then performed and the morning was finished off with mince pies and mulled wine! A great start to the festive season!
