City of Bristol Head Race

Eight Avon crews raced in the historic Bristol Docks over the traditional 3000m winding course on Sunday.  All areas of the club were represented with Veteran, Junior and Women's crews all competing.

After months of hard training, our womens novice four of Ali W, Clair, Ali B and Jane in the capable coxing hands of Tony, finally raced.  They won - beating local rivals from Bradford-on-Avon RC, Bristol Ariel RC and the host club City of Bristol RC.  What a result!

Jane's daughter was also racing in the womens junior 16 coxless quads who also won.

Our Womens Junior 16 eight changed status to race novice (as there was no competition for them in their status).  They raced well, beating the City of Bristol B crew but they were no match for the A crew who had some very experienced women on board.

The Womens Junior 14 quad were frustrated by the lack of competition for their age group.
